Find out how this fat-targeting treatment could improve your face and body.

Most people are dissatisfied with some area of their body that just seems to hold on to a little excess fat. Whether you hate the flab on your arms or bulges under your bra, our Mt. Arlington, NJ, dermatologists have a simple injectable treatment that could finally get rid of this unwanted fat and leave you with smooth, shapelier results. Visit one of our offices in the Mt. Arlington, Bridgewater, or Morristown, NJ, areas.

What is Kybella?

This cosmetic injectable contains deoxycholic acid, a molecule that is naturally occurring within the body that helps to break down fat. When Kybella is administered, this formula will destroy and absorb the fat cells to get rid of unwanted and stubborn bulges. This is a great option for those who want to get rid of small areas of unwanted fat but don’t want to undergo surgery to do it.

Where can Kybella be administered?

This treatment is most often used to treat double chins or excessive fat under the chin, providing tighter and more contoured results. Of course, our Mt. Arlington, NJ, team can administer Kybella in other areas such as around the bra line, armpits, back, or buttock.

How many treatment sessions are required to achieve the maximum results?

Most people will require anywhere from 2-4 sessions to see the best results. Unlike liposuction and other body shaping treatments, Kybella doesn’t require any downtime and it only takes minutes to administer.

While there is a slight stinging sensation when the injectable is administered, our dermatologists can numb the area prior so you won’t feel any discomfort. The treated area may be sore and a little red right after but this should go away quickly. We will also provide you with at-home care instructions for how to reduce discomfort or swelling.

How long will my results last?

Once you get Kybella, results are considered permanent as long as you maintain a healthy weight.

What is Kybella?

Kybella is an FDA-approved injectable that is used to benefit adults over the age of eighteen that may struggle with excess fat under their chin. Kybella contains a molecule that is naturally found in the body to help break down dietary fat. When injected into the chin, it helps to destroy fat cells and prevents them from storing more fat.

Each person is different, so the number of sessions you may need will vary. Your dermatologists in Morristown, Mt. Arlington, and Bridgewater, NJ, will sit down and discuss what will best suit your needs and how many sessions your body will need for your desired results.

Results may be seen anywhere from four to six weeks after your first session and will continue to progress with time and throughout your next sessions. Kybella is administered with a small needle under the chin. Afterward, you may feel slightly sore at the location of the injection, but that should disappear quickly. A huge benefit to Kybella is that is no downtime associated with it. After your injection, you can go back to normal life and the most that you may need is over-the-counter ibuprofen.

Surgery or liposuction aren't the only ways to get rid of fat under your chin. Kybella kybellainjections offer an effective alternative if you have moderate to severe fat deposits. Kybella is just one of the cosmetic procedures and treatments offered by the dermatologists at Affiliated Dermatologists in Morristown, Mt. Arlington and Bridgewater, NJ.

Kybella treatment eliminates fat cells

During Kybella treatment, deoxycholic acid is injected under your skin. The injections contain a synthetic form of the acid, which your body produces naturally to absorb fat. Exposure to the acid destroys fat cells on contact. Once the cells are gone, they can't return. The destroyed fat cells are eliminated from your body over the next two or three weeks.

Treatment is quick and effective

Kybella treatment generally takes about 15 minutes, although treatment time can vary depending on the amount of fat under your chin. Before the treatment, our dermatologist may apply a topical numbing cream to your face. After identifying and marking the treatment areas, they will inject Kybella at multiple points under your chin.

Although you'll probably begin to see a difference in your chin about a week after your first treatment, you may need several Kybella sessions for best results. Kybella treatments are usually scheduled one month apart.

After your treatment, you may notice a little redness, pain, swelling, numbness or bruising at the injection sites. These symptoms are usually mild and only last a week or two. Swelling can make the area under the chin look even larger immediately after treatment. Fortunately, swelling usually goes away within a day or two of your injections. You can resume your usual activities as soon as you leave your skin doctor's office.

Is Kybella a good choice for you?

You may be a good candidate for Kybella treatment if:

  • You're 18 years old or older and in good health.
  • You are unhappy with the appearance of the area under your chin.
  • You have a double chin or extra fat under your chin, even though you're at a healthy weight.
  • You want to avoid surgery or liposuction.

Would you like to get rid of stubborn fat under your chin without surgery? Kybella may be the perfect solution for you. Call the dermatologists at Affiliated Dermatologists in Morristown, Mt. Arlington and Bridgewater, NJ, at (973) 267-0300 to schedule an appointment.

Get rid of excess skin and achieve a more defined jawline with this simple procedure.

As we get older our skin begins to lose its elasticity, resulting in sagging, loose skin kybellaaround the jawline. This can be enough to make anyone feel a little self-conscious about their appearance. If this is something you are currently dealing with, our Morristown, Bridgewater, and Mt. Arlington, NJ, dermatologists have a simple nonsurgical option that could reshape and contour the face and get rid of that double chin.

What is Kybella?

Kybella is a safe and effective way to reduce the appearance of excess fat around the chin (also known as a double chin) without having to undergo surgery. In fact, it is the only FDA-approved injectable that can be used in adults to specifically treat double chin.

How does it work?

The main and active ingredient found in Kybella is a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, which is a molecule that breaks down fat. So, when our skin doctor administers these injections into the chin, the active ingredient gets to work breaking down and reabsorbing these fat cells.

When do results appear?

When you come in for your consultation, we will determine how many treatment sessions you will require based on how much excess fat is around the chin. This is a great option for those dealing moderate-to-severe fat in the chin area. During each treatment session, we will administer very small injections into the face. Patients may receive anywhere from 2-6 treatments, each performed about 1 month apart.

How long will results last?

Since Kybella actually destroys the fat cells these cells will not return and won’t be able to store fat. This means that these results are permanent and you won’t usually require any additional treatment.

Here at Affiliated Dermatologists, we believe that confidence is more than skin deep. If you want to improve the appearance of your skin our dermatologists offer locations in Morristown, Bridgewater, and Mt. Arlington, NJ, to serve you better. Call us today to find out how Kybella can help you.
